Overview

About Department

The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.  

About the Role

As Junior Assistant within Finance you will be carrying out the following duties:  

• Update leave entitlements for students and employees working on reduced hours on the Leave Management System;

• Compile reports with the total number of hours worked by interns to be paid in monthly payroll runs;

• Compile reports with additional hours worked by employees on reduced hour schedules to be paid in monthly payroll runs; 

• Update employee details and work schedules on the Leave Management System;

• Support general accounting duties as necessary;  

• Any other duties as may be assigned by senior management as may be required.

About You

You are a dynamic team player who is energetic and motivated to contribute with creative solutions. 

You will have a passion in Financial Services, Accounting or a related field, and are currently in the stage of obtaining a qualification in a relevant field at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
