Overview

About Communications

Acting as the central point of contact for the Authority, the Communications function handles its internal and external communications with the aim of maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and keeping them up to date, be they employees, licence holders or the public at large. The function is also the designated brand guardian of the MFSA, managing its reputation and image on the various digital and offline platforms, through B2B and consumer education campaigns and events.

About the Role

As a Junior Analyst in Communications, you will be involved in the following:

Technical Duties: 

• Leading procurement-related work, liaising directly with suppliers, and keeping a record of expenses related to the function to update and submit budgets accordingly;

• Monitoring digital news and printing media coverage to circulate as necessary;

• Managing the Authority's library of third-party publications and subscriptions;

• Contributing significantly to the planning, coordination, and execution of events—both local and international—including logistical setup, liaising with venues and suppliers, coordinating delegate participation, and managing timelines and budgets. Supporting in the implementation of campaigns, including booking media and procuring merchandise;

• Supporting with the handling of enquiries received from consumers and corporate clients; 

• Preparing statistics and reports related to events, campaigns and the different communications initiatives;

• Supporting with any content creation or digital content updates; 

• Other administrative tasks, such as the ordering of stationery and maintaining the storage facility.

Interpersonal Duties: 

• When required, handling communications with external parties, providing excellent customer service to people reaching out to the Authority with queries, as well as maintaining relationships with suppliers;

• Working well in a team environment and supporting colleagues where necessary.

Other Duties: 

• Managing different projects while simultaneously meeting deadlines;

• Handling any other duties as assigned by the function’s Head or line managers and as dependent on the exigencies of the Communications function and the Authority.

About You

You ideally have a Diploma in Marketing, Business or related discipline, OR a comparable recognised related qualification at NQF level 6 duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC)*. ECDL certification or an equivalent proof of computer literacy would be an asset. You should also have a good command in both written and spoken Maltese and English.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least five (5) years working in an administrative or marketing environment, we would still be interested in speaking with you. 

Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred.
