About Risk Management
The Risk Management Function, acting as the second line, is responsible for the analysis and management of risks within the MFSA. The Risk Management team is responsible for providing the strategic input and direction with regards to the risk appetite and ensure that the defined risk appetite is compliant with the requirements set out by the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs). The Risk Management function is also responsible for ensuring that the internal processes and procedures of the MFSA comply with European Standards whilst offering recommendations on how these can be improved through risk and quality perspectives. In addition, the Function has a standalone responsibility to monitor the risk profile of the Authority and to flag developing trends for existing risks and the potential consequences of new threats or opportunities. Ultimately through its work the Risk Management Function enables the Authority to be proactive and ready to respond to potential challenges.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be required to undertake the following tasks:
• Assisting with the maintenance and updating of the risk register;
• Carrying our preparatory research in relation to risk assessments;
• Supporting the monitoring of action plans which have been devised following the recording of a risk or a risk incident;
• Helping with the documentation of risk incidents;
• Coordinating with Risk Officers from each Function to collect information relating to a risk incident or risk assessment;
• Assisting in the analysis of data and the preparation of reports or presentations;
• Supporting the team with administrative tasks including meeting scheduling, minute taking, ordering of stationery; and to
• Carrying out any other duties and tasks as may be assigned by senior management to support the team with its day-to-day operations.

About You
To qualify for this role, you must be in the process of obtaining a qualification in any of the following subjects: risk management, criminology, law, banking and finance, accountancy, economics and/or financial services at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
The following skill set is a must for this position:
• Experience with using Power BI;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Powerpoint;
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• The ability to multi-task and work on own initiative;
• The ability to work in a team; and
• Attention to detail.
