About Department
The Data Innovation & Strategy team is at the forefront of shaping how the Authority leverages data and AI to lead in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. We’re on a mission to unlock data’s full potential — not just to inform decisions, but to transform the way we supervise, anticipate emerging risks, and deliver public value. This team drives forward-looking initiatives, explores cutting-edge technologies, and plays a key role in positioning the Authority as a digitally empowered, innovation-driven regulator.

• Ensuring that solutions are designed not just for automation and efficiency, but also to deliver greater analytical depth and decision-making support.
• Helping map out MFSA’s data tools, platforms, and practices to identify what’s working, what’s missing, and where ML/LLM technologies can help.
• Engaging with colleagues from Business Units, Programme Management, IT, and Data to align efforts and ensure successful implementation.
• Tracking developments in the use of AI/ML/LLMs within global and European financial regulatory frameworks.
