The Communications Function
Acting as the central point of contact for the Authority, the Communications function handles its internal and external communications with the aim of maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and keeping them up to date, be they employees, licence holders or the public at large. The function is also the designated brand guardian of the MFSA, managing its reputation and image on the various digital and offline platforms, through B2B and consumer education campaigns and events.
Your Role
You will be part of the Corporate and Internal Communications team, which manages all the content that is published through the MFSA official channels, including website, social media platforms and intranet portal. You will be supporting the team with content writing for all these channels, as well as coordinating and launching publications, such as the Annual Report. In your role, you will also play a crucial part in the concept and content creation as well as management of campaigns, be it those related to employer branding, consumer education or even internal projects. You will also support with the handling of public relations, as well as media and internal enquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications & Skills Required
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a senior role in marketing or communications, with an emphasis on content creation/copy writing and public relations.
• Knowledge of campaign management, with experience in a creative role.
• Experience with social media posting and campaign management on these channels.
• Experience in customer service, publishing of annual reports and crisis communication planning will be considered beneficial for your application.
Technical Skills
• SEO-friendly writing and keyword optimisation
• Copywriting for various formats (press releases, social media, website, intranet portal, email marketing) making use of storytelling and persuasive writing
• Proofreading and editing for clarity, grammar, and brand voice, in both English and Maltese
• Crisis communication strategies
• Media coverage analysis, media outreach and relationship management
• Campaign management skills including scripting, production and visual storytelling skills
• Social media strategy and content creation
• Ability to analyse numbers for campaign performance tracking
Soft Skills
• Strong communication skills, adopting a clear, professional, and friendly tone in both written and verbal interactions.
• A flair for creative thinking and writing, to come up with innovative and suitable campaign ideas, and engaging content.
• Attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in responses and written materials.
• Ability to pitch ideas and influence direction on projects, in exchanges with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate good judgement and critical thinking to handle media and general enquiries with sensibility
• A customer-centric mindset to understand and address customer needs effectively.
• Time management & multitasking to handle multiple projects simultaneously and within deadlines.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn – ability to adjust writing style for different audiences and channels, and stay updated on industry trends.
• Collaboration & teamwork – Working closely with other colleagues to ensure backing and obtain the required information and approvals in a timely manner, whilst being available to support the team as necessary.
