Overview

About the Department

Technology is at the core of the knowledge-based organisation. It enables MFSA's strategic and operational objectives to be achieved efficiently and effectively. The Technology team leverages cutting-edge technology, industry standards and methodologies to provide reliable services to the rest of the organisation and the financial services sector interacting with the Authority electronically. It is responsible for technology design, information security, development, integration and delivery of all information and communications infrastructure, platforms, and services, working with technology vendors and partners. The Technology team is made up of professionals specialised in relevant areas that include governance and planning, infrastructure and service management, information systems, and security. Officials from Technology also participate and give their contribution in several European committees, expert groups and industry fora.

About You

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual with a strong background in administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess experience in clerical, secretarial, and administrative roles, with a solid understanding of information and communication technologies. You should have a National Qualification Framework Level 5 certification (or equivalent, as certified by MQRIC) in a relevant field. In the absence of a Diploma candidates with at least three (3) years of relevant experience will also be considered. 

As a Senior Support Officer within Technology you will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively understand and address day-to-day requirements.
  • A customer-centric approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in both Maltese and English (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office applications.
  • Adequate written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently and proactively.
  • A collaborative attitude with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • A positive and professional demeanour, with good organisational skills and a proactive approach.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to occasional after-hours emergencies.

About Role

As a Junior Administrative Officer, you will play an essential role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the Technology Function. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative, secretarial, and clerical support.
  • Managing and responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintaining and administering office systems, including information management and filing (both physical and electronic).
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders, building strong working relationships.
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, preparing agendas, and taking accurate minutes.
  • Conducting research, preparing reports, and proofreading documents.
  • Assisting with project management and workplan execution.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc tasks as required to meet the needs of the Authority.
