Overview

About the Department:

The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.

About the Role:

As a Part-Time Junior Finance Officer, you will be expected to perform the following duties while working a 20-hour week:

• Handling the travel process by ensuring adherence to the MFSA’s travel procedure, preparing, processing and posting of disbursements in relation to such travel;

• Liaising with insurers and updating records on excel with respect to Insurance Claims;

• Posting of payments and journal entries on SAGE accounting system;

• Assist in reconciling Supplier Statements with Sage;

• Assist in Bank Reconciliations on a monthly basis;

• Handling other general administrative duties for the Operations Team;

• Assisting other team members in their workload, as necessary.

About you:

We are looking for candidates who have academic qualifications in Accounting or in another related subject at MQF Level 6. If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications but have at least five (5) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
