Overview

About the Department

Banking Supervision carries out on-site and ongoing supervision of licensed banks. The Banking Supervision team comprises professionals with a financial services academic background, but also legal and IT professionals to support policy and supervisory work.

 

About the Role

As Analyst you will be responsible to carry out work which will include the following duties:

  • Supervising a group of less significant credit institutions in line with the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) Supervisory Manual;
  • Executing the Risk Assessment System and the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP);
  • Being the lead contact point for the relevant experts of the banks you supervise;
  • Representing the MFSA in industry forums or to external stakeholders;
  • Other ad hoc related duties as may be required .

 

About You

We are looking for candidates with experience within the financial sector, preferably in Banking.

The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.

You will also possess a minimum of 3 years work experience. Candidates with longer work experience relevant to the role will be preferred.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least 7 years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
