About the Department
Banking Supervision carries out on-site and ongoing supervision of all banks in Malta, licensed under the Banking Act, including their Authorisation. The Policy and Legal Team within Banking Supervision provides policy stances and legal advice, both within the MFSA and to external stakeholders, with a view to the consistent and effective application of the local legislation as well as European Regulations and Directives. The team is also tasked with the transposition and implementation of such EU legislation and guidelines issued by the European Banking Authority.
About the Role
Working in a dedicated Policy & Legal Team within the Banking Supervision function, this is a unique opportunity for you to specialise in financial services and get actively involved with the regulatory process from the perspective of the national competent authority as a regulator and supervisor of banks.
As a Junior Analyst you will be expected to assist with providing efficient and professional advice on policy-related matters, which will include the following duties as necessary:
You will also be expected to undertake any other duties that may arise depending on the exigencies of Banking Supervision and the Authority.
About You
The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least 5 years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
